Sovereign Realty + Management Tapped by The Drake House to Manage Critical Transitional Housing for Women and Children

Sovereign Realty + Management (SRM), a recognized leader in Atlanta’s competitive real estate market and community-focused property management, has been chosen by The Drake House to provide property management services for its 16-unit transitional housing community in Roswell. This strategic partnership further extends SRM’s reach in the Atlanta metro area, reinforcing the company’s reputation as the go-to expert for mission-driven housing solutions.

Known for delivering exceptional property management services from affordable to luxury homes, SRM brings decades of experience and a commitment to helping families achieve true stability.

By partnering with The Drake House—a leading North Fulton nonprofit serving women and children in crisis—SRM ensures The Drake House can efficiently operate their unique management approach for families working toward self-sufficiency.

Atlanta’s need for these types of solutions continues to grow. According to the 2024 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count, the city’s homeless population increased 7 percent from the previous year.

“Being selected by The Drake House reaffirms the exceptional standard of care and approach SRM delivers across our affordable housing portfolios,” said Karen Hatcher, CEO and Broker at Sovereign Realty + Management. “Through these partnerships we’re creating with attainable housing focused organizations such as Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership, Inc.,  Gwinnett Housing’s ‘Welcome Home’ program,  and The Drake House, we’re not just providing shelter—we’re building a pathway for families to achieve the American Dream of homeownership, a dream that too often feels out of reach for many. She continues, “We’re proud to raise the bar for attainable housing management and look forward to a successful partnership with The Drake House.”

With SRM’s proven operational excellence, these families gain not just a place to live but a foundation for rebuilding their lives and pursuing long-term goals like homeownership.

Since 2006, The Drake House has helped more than a thousand families find their footing and rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness. Families are able to stay together in private, fully furnished apartments, while children continue attending their original schools—keeping their education on track and minimizing upheaval.

Mothers work with their Program Managers to develop a personalized empowerment and housing plan with specific goals. And together, they identify the family’s needs and work towards the financial goals necessary to move to economic independence and lasting stability.

“This partnership with SRM gives our families the highest quality transitional housing experience possible,” said Nesha Mason, President at The Drake House. “Their expertise and ability to tailor a management plan specific to our programs allows us to focus on the long-term success for the women and children we serve.”

She continues, “We are also excited about the opportunity to transition some of our program alumni to the possibility of homeownership, particularly within our county.
